THINGS I WANNA DO

I wanna travel around the Philippines.  Go to Palawan, Boracay, Davao, Bohol, Corregidor, Ilo-Ilo, Benguet, Antipolo, and anywhere else here in my country.

 

I wanna see the special work of nature that each of these places have.

 

I wanna eat the best food that they can offer.  Dine in the restaurants or bars that offer extraordinary dishes.

 

I wanna sleep in their hotels or even in cheap cottages as long as it’s near a special place.

 

I wanna smoke while I watch the sunrise and drink beers or tequila while I watch the sunset.

 

I wanna walk walk and walk and take pictures all over the place.

 

I also wanna go around Metro Manila.

 

Eat at restaurants that I haven’t been in before.

 

Drink and smoke at bars that I’ve always wanted to go to.

 

Go to concerts.

 

Anywhere in these places, I wanna bathe under the rain.  Jump up and down from puddle to puddle.

 

I wanna relax.  Drain my mind from worries.  Let go of problems. 

 

All of these I wanna do…  I wanna do with only one person.  L

THE FAVOR BANK

My friend, Andrea, has this book called “The Zahir” by Paulo Coelho.  It’s a book about obsession of a man to his wife that disappeared without a trace.  They’ve been together for 10 years.  They don’t usually interfere with each other’s personal business.  They don’t even question each other’s affair.  They’re married, yes, but they’re still free to do what they want.

 

You’re probably thinking that this blog is about love, or worst, marriage!  And people who know me will definitely think that.  Sorry to disappoint you, guys, but believe it or not, you’re wrong!  That’s right, Pbear (he’s my officemate who introduced this site to me), my first blog will not be about that.  I don’t wanna be emotional…yet.  J

 

Going back to my topic, I will share to you what The Favor Bank is and broaden the explanation by sharing.  Let me start by giving the definition to the words, though I know it’s self-explanatory, I still want to do it to add drama.  J  Anyway:

 

Bank – an establishment for receiving or lending money; any fund held in reserve

Favor – friendly regard; a kind or obliging act

 

Let me define the Favor Bank as ANY FRIENDLY REGARD OR KIND ACT HELD IN RESERVE.  Doing favors for others so that they will do the same for you in the future and you have to do as much as you can so that the interest will be big enough before you withdraw.  I agree it is not a good deed but reality check people; it’s a necessity to open an account there so that you can survive and live the life you want in the world you live in.  This is very common in politics.  Political leaders are giving higher positions to Generals so that they can cover their asses in the future.  Another reality check people, wherever we go and whatever we do, there’s always politics.  A simple example is in the company that you or me work for.  People keep on kissing each other’s asses so that they will cover each other’s asses in the future as well.  How did I know?  Come on, people, wake up!  Stop pretending that it’s not happening coz it is!  Right under our noses, even under our bosses noses or our bosses’ bosses noses!  Aren’t you wondering why you suddenly have lots of friends every time you get promoted?  Nor are you wondering why all of a sudden people are nice to you?  Nor are you wondering why people keep on praising you?  Nor are you wondering why people treat you for lunch or a simple coffee?  It’s because they will need a favor from you in the future!  In short, you are their god in their USER-FRIENDLY world so don’t be fooled!!!    

 

Whew!  Sorry, I got carried away.       

 

Anyway, there’s this one “barkada” (it’s a group composed of “friends”) in my world that most of the people are envy of because they think they’re cool and a bit popular.  They are usually happy when you see them and they definitely do favors for each other even if it would have bad effect on the people outside their crowd (people outside their crowd are usually the people they don’t like…good thing I’m not one of those people or am I? Hmmm..).  They’ve been together for a long time now and they think they know each other well.  Anyway, there’s this one tiny amoeba in that group that “boksfyt” (boksfyt is the act of saying bad things about a person behind his/her back) all of the people in the group already and yet gets away with it because of charm and the FAVOR BANK…and of course, the people in the group are not aware about the “boksfyt” done.       

 

Enough about that, someone might stab me in the back anytime now.

 

The Favor Bank is not that bad, though, we just have to use it wisely and not abuse it.  I myself have an account open there and I can say that it brought me places (as in “PLACES”…literally).

 

You see, the Favor Bank is very powerful and very useful.  So if you haven’t opened an account yet, invest now for a very bright future ahead of you…I hope.
